Located on the edge of the Mississippi River, within a moment's walk to beautiful downtown Almonte, Menzies House is an ideal venue for those looking to explore the area.

We have three rooms to suit your needs when planning your stay with us. 

Full breakfasts are served in the large Victorian dining room each morning.

We cater to special diets upon request.

 

Amenities

All bedrooms are equipped with high speed wireless internet, writing desks and air conditioning. Tired guests are welcomed with fine linens and terry robes.

Guests have exclusive use of the library, equipped with television and DVD player.

Enjoy the seasonal tranquility and warmth of the fireplace in the large living room. In warmer months laze about the lower lawn listening to the waterfalls, spend an afternoon sunning by our large in ground salt water pool, or curl up with a good book in our gazebo.

History

Built in 1850, Menzies House is a designated Ontario Heritage Home, and has a rich history in Almonte.

First owned by John Menzies, a local merchant and registrar of North Lanark County, the home was ideally situated in the centre of this thriving Mill Town.
